"Bun Up, Bar Down," is YouTube Channel and Blog dedicated to body positivity, healthy lifestyle practices, and empowerment.
What does "Bun up, Bar Down" mean?
"Bun Up, Bar Down" is here as a resource for people of all shapes and sizes to grow in confidence. Even though my hair has gotten shorter over the years, when I put it up in a bun, I meant business (whether on the softball field, in class, or onstage). That's where "Bun Up" comes from. I also went to the University of Arizona where the slogan is "Bear Down". "Bar Down" is not only a cute play on words from my alma mater, but also the basic movement of a deadlift--which is the exercise I feel the most powerful doing! |
About Me

My name is Elena and I am a recent graduate from the University of Arizona, where I received a BA in Theatre Arts.
I'm originally from Los Angeles, California, but have lived in both Tucson, AZ and Chicago, IL. I am currently living in Los Angeles.
I was always divided between my love for the arts and my love for athletics. I was a softball player for 8 years, but then was drawn to performing after things went sour between me and my sport.
Now, my goal is to create safe and fun spaces where those progressing in or just starting out on their journey of self-love and confidence, feel they can go for inspiration and motivation.
Please note, I am not a health and fitness professional (yet) and to contact your doctor before beginning any wellness program!
